A TOTAL of 100 riders will vie for honors in the 31st Kadayawan Lumba Bisiklita sa Kadayawan that will unreel at six a.m. at Barangay Ma-a in Langub, Davao City.

Salvador Paholio Jr., in Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the NCCC Mall Food Cove function hall, said that the race will start in Langub and will pass through the Langub Barangay Hall going to Magtuod Barangay Hall, Artica Dome, to Maa traffic light and back to Langub for the finish.

He also said that they requested the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO) officer-in-charge Mikey Aportadera to charge P250 entry fee inclusive of one souvenir shirt and pack lunch since the city’s sponsorship will all be earmarked for the cash prizes.

“Nilakihan na namin yung prizes, kasi para di manghinayang yung mga sasali galing pa sa malayo,” Paholio said.

The race features the open elite, 21 years old and under, juniors under-18, ladies open, masters/veterans and executive (road bike) divisions.

The champions in open elite, 21 years old and under, juniors under-18, masters/veteran and executive categories will pocket a cash prize of P3,000, while the next two placers will receive P2,000 and P1,000.

In boys 15-under and ladies events, top three finishers will claim P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000.

The event is sponsored by the SDD-CMO.

Skywaze General Manager Joel Astilla said they initiated the First Duterte Unity Ride because they have future plans in conducting bigger events like the First Duterte Tour de Pilipinas.
